I like Slax and I am a big fan! :) [2] fundamental wrote 1 year ago:
With a rough calculation, that means that ONLY from the main site about 95 TB of Slax was downloaded! Only one version too!
One question: With 2.28% of downloads from China, why do they not have their own section of the Slax site to translate?
May 2009 be another good year for Slax. [3] Tomas M wrote 1 year ago:
Slax site is 'translantable' only to languages which are supported by Slax OS itself (language modules are provided on ftp://ftp.slax.org/SLAX-6.x/multi-language/6.0.9/).

Ok.
then, will it be possible for the Chinese language to get support? (If I remember correctly, all that is needed is the locales, the input methods, and the translations for kde and initrd contained applications) [5] Tomas M wrote 1 year ago:
Yes I don't have anything against Chinese, but first I don't know the required information (locales name) and second I think there are needed some very special (and very big) fonts. If anybody is willing to teach me how to support Chinese, I will be happy to do it. [6] WhiteFeather wrote 1 year ago:
Maybe you could start to improove your distribution and maybe I could change my mind back to Slax Linux instead of using another Linux distribution. [7] Chris wrote 1 year ago:
Congratulations on the milestone! Keep up the great work! [8] Chris wrote 1 year ago:
Happy New Years from CT, USA. Best wishes for slax in 2009! [9] Pax wrote 1 year ago:
Over half a million, that's an amazing number. SLAX is one of the few viable lightweight Operating Systems on the planet. The downloads speak for themselves. Great job! [10] eM wrote 1 year ago:
Hello Tomas,
I would like to point out, although it is absolutely "hnidopisske";) that you are mixing together "political" names (of particular states) with the "geographical" ones! And that is a basic mistake:).
Why not make it fully geographical, like "Great Britain" and "Czechia"...? Or fully political, like "French republic", "United Kingdon", "Finland republic" and so on. (Well, the second proposal is meant only as na example of what I mean; to point out the diffence/mistake properly).
...But I mean it only as a good advise;) [11] Tomas M wrote 1 year ago:
Regarding the names of the states, I am just copying the text what Google Analytics gives me... :) [12] neo01 wrote 1 year ago:
I am from India, i love Slax. Though i don't use it regularly, i use it as a rescue system or like a kiosk.
Thank you Tomas for creating such a beautiful distribution. [13] pauelmaco wrote 1 year ago:

Only one thing, Catalan slax page is in Chinese, and we doesn't understand anything.
Another thing, I and four or five of my friends use slax and we love it.
With love, from Catalonia (Spain). [14] n3y wrote 1 year ago:
As Brazil got 3.59% I think it should have translation packages for Brazilian Portuguese at the site ftp://ftp.slax.org/SLAX-6.x/multi-language/6.0.9/ , there are many differences between pt-PT (Portuguese from Portugal) and pt-BR (Portuguese from Brazil), the informatic vocabulary is very different.
As I am brazilian, to use slax I download the english (default) version and build modules for translate it to pt-BR increeasing the size of my slax.
I ask for pt-Br packages, please.

I just found Slax while creating a bootable USB stick. Slax is the smallest, fastest, AND full-featured distro ever. If I can just get my Dell Lattitude D600 wireless working, it will be perfect. [18] Buy valium wrote 151 days ago:
