written by Tomas M. 2 years ago Thanks to many suggestions, I fixed several things in the kernel config regarding IWLWIFI, PCI_MSI, and I also decided to compile several drivers as module (instead of building them into kernel directly). These changes will be visible in Slax 6.1.1, which will be released in 15 hours.
The time should be obligatory, since I'll be attending the Linux-Expo conference in Czech Republic during 15-16th of April 2009, thus I need the best Slax version there. So stay tuned! :)

i had once encounterd problem with usb (ehci-hcd) which is
built in kernel, due to malfuncioning motherboard
and i think is impossible to disable it, to get slax operational.
but this is just marginal case.no need to worry ;) [2] the_greek wrote 2 years ago:
i would also recommend that you
should try to issue BETA releases
so that some god-forsaken-ordinary user would
not download it, only those willing to test it.
But this is not mandatory of course.

also when you mention best slax version
i would recommend to take to that expo
one copy of slax 5.1.8
(just in case, to cover all bases )
appologies if i'm too direct. [4] fundamental wrote 2 years ago:
Good luck with the Linux convention.
If you fix the errors that have existed with the drivers, I do think that this will be the best version of Slax so far.
The only thing that really needs to be worked on after this release will be the module cleanup. [5] the_greek wrote 2 years ago:
is linux just about driver problems
or about one speekeng freely what one think ? You can't add your comment any longer since the post is too old. |
